The world of a child is inconceivable without the fairy tales of A. S. Pushkin.
Boris Alexandrovich Dekhterev (1908-1993), who headed the art editorial office of the Children’s Literature publishing house, was one of the first to illustrate them. The first drawings were made by the artist in 1946 – for the forthcoming anniversary three-volume edition of the poet’s works. The publication includes three drawings for the fairy tales “About Tsar Saltan”, “About the Dead Princess” and “About the Fisherman and the Fish”. A little later, in a collection of fairy tales for children, B. Dekhterev widely illustrated with a pen “The Dead Princess” and “The Tale of the Priest …”. And a short time later, a large series of pencil drawings for all five fairy tales was prepared.
The color drawings included in this collection date from 1949–1957. Collected together, they are published in an independent edition for the first time.

The book uses images of works from the funds of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Additional Education “Specialized School of Watercolor by Sergei Andriyaka
with the museum and exhibition complex ”
